The degree to which the Tyndale New Testament Commentary series fulfills its stated goal, 'to help the non-technical reader to understand his Bible better' has been shown uniformly excellent throughout the series. Despite being non-technical commentaries, Tyndale Commentaries are nevertheless exegetical and discuss the major issues that scholars are concerned with in ordinary language. In this particular volume, 2 Peter and Jude Michael Green provides an excellent addition to the Tyndale series. Green truly pushes the envelope in his work, and does not allow the reader to remain a lay person. He expects work, and although he defines terms for his reader, he also pulls the reader to where he is, never leaving his students unchallenged. His writing style is crisp, clear, but also elegant, and he does not use words superfluously. With an insightful introduction in which he discerningly sifts through the evidence, and outstanding section-by-section exposition of the text, Green provides a commentary that will continually build the knowledge of his reader. Highly recommended.
